Hard cafe seats
Cafe Ole is an incredible cafe on 3rd street in Philadelphia. Wonderful little place with the best chai I've ever had in my life, not that I am a chai connoisseur. It has seating inside for about 30 people, and for the past 2 days, I have spent the majority of my day here, pounding away at the work I have been needing to do all summer.
Today, I spent the first part of the day working on Dedoose at my brother's house. I would have started the work here at the cafe, but it is a web-based textual analysis program that uses Flash. No way to do it from my iPad ... yet. I think the company is eventually planning on developing an app, but until that time, I will have to work from a desktop. Coding was actually quite intuitive. After a few instructional videos, I was well on my way to coding heaven. Much better than the old days when I was doing this kind of work by hand. From weeks to a few hours of work? Yes, I will take that.
After a few hours of work (16 more files to go. Yikes!), I decided to head to Cafe Ole for lunch, a Green Tea Chai (LOVELY) and work, work, work. I've been working here for about 6 hours now, and after 6 hours in the same seat without a stretch, I'm a bit achy. Still, I figure that if I can push through just a tad longer, I might be able to get this conclusion section in, the rest of my citations done in addition to flushing out some of the pages that a bit thin at this point. If I can get this in a good position, I can submit it when I return to San Francisco and have at least one article out in the world.
So, here I am, plugging away, despite the pain of my bottom in this very hard cafe seat. :)
