I can feel sugars coating my teeth. My white skirt and shirt seem infused with time and heat. How many days have slipped away? Sunday existed only as a few hours in San Francisco, the first hours, with the rest lost to the expanse of ocean, cloud, and darkness. It is Monday. We slip forward and backwards in time, having gone so far west as to have lost a day and still further to go. We landed in Singapore at around 9:30pm. How long is the flight from Singapore to Sri Lanka? I don’t know. What is the time difference? I don’t know that either, although I could easily look them up. What I do know is my own human wearing. I am exhausted, and tomorrow, the learning and service, service and learning begins.
